Technical Support & Engineering

Technical Support & Engineering

Technical Support & Engineering

TEKTON provides hands-on technical support and engineering assistance across the yacht’s machinery, equipment, technical systems, hull and superstructure.

Our role is to support the Owner, Captain and Chief Engineer in addressing technical matters efficiently, with a clear understanding of the vessel’s operational requirements, safety priorities and real-world conditions onboard.

A key part of our service is troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. Our approach begins with identifying the root cause rather than simply replacing components or treating individual symptoms. Technical documentation, alarm and fault history, operating parameters, previous interventions and the interaction between connected systems are evaluated alongside physical inspection and testing.

Drawing on extensive first-hand engineering experience, we approach each case individually. When conventional troubleshooting reaches its limits, we are prepared to look deeper — combining technical knowledge, practical judgement and resourceful thinking to identify solutions appropriate to the actual circumstances onboard.

In urgent or critical situations, TEKTON can assist in assessing the failure, establishing immediate priorities and determining the appropriate course of action. The safety of the people onboard, the vessel and the surrounding environment always comes first.

Where specialist or manufacturer intervention is required, we can identify and coordinate the appropriate technical support while remaining involved throughout the diagnostic and repair process.

Our objective is not simply to restore operation temporarily. It is to understand the problem, resolve it correctly and, wherever possible, reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

Refit & Project Management

Refit & Project Management

Refit & Project Management

TEKTON provides technical coordination and project management for yacht refits, upgrades and complex technical works, from initial planning and specification through execution, testing and final delivery.

Our knowledge of the Greek yachting and shipyard market, combined with a broad and trusted professional network, allows us to identify and coordinate carefully selected specialists according to the requirements of each individual project.

Contractors and technical partners are selected according to their experience, technical capability and, where relevant, manufacturer approvals, qualifications and certifications. Our role is to provide independent technical judgement and ensure that proposed solutions are appropriate for the yacht, rather than simply accepting the first available recommendation.

Throughout the project, TEKTON follows progress, workmanship, technical compliance, schedules and outstanding items, maintaining clear communication between the Owner, Captain, Chief Engineer, shipyard, contractors and other parties involved.

During completion, we can support commissioning, functional testing, snagging and sea trials to verify that completed works perform as intended and that outstanding technical issues are properly identified and addressed.

Where required, we also support the Chief Engineer during final handover and familiarization with newly installed or modified systems, helping ensure that the vessel returns to operation with a clear understanding of the work completed and the systems delivered.

Maintenance Management

Maintenance Management

Maintenance Management

TEKTON provides structured maintenance management designed to support the reliability, safety and long-term technical condition of the yacht.

Maintenance planning should not be based solely on calendar intervals. We consider the vessel’s Planned Maintenance System, manufacturer recommendations, equipment running hours, maintenance history, actual condition, operational profile and the criticality of each system when determining priorities and required interventions.

This allows maintenance to be approached proactively rather than reactively, helping identify developing issues before they become failures and reducing unnecessary disruption to the yacht’s operation.

Where specialist servicing is required, TEKTON can coordinate appropriately qualified service providers and follow the work through completion, ensuring that the intervention is properly documented and that relevant technical information is retained for future reference.

Our objective is to establish a practical maintenance strategy that combines preventive maintenance with condition-aware technical judgement — supporting reliability without creating unnecessary work, cost or downtime.

Surveys & Inspections

Surveys & Inspections

Surveys & Inspections

TEKTON provides independent technical surveys and inspections designed to give Owners and prospective buyers a clear and objective understanding of a yacht’s technical condition.

Our inspections can cover machinery, propulsion and auxiliary equipment, electrical and hydraulic systems, technical installations, hull and superstructure, as well as available maintenance records, service history and technical documentation, according to the agreed scope of each survey.

A particularly important part of this service is the Pre-Purchase Condition Survey. When a client is considering the acquisition of a new or pre-owned yacht, TEKTON can act as an independent technical advisor, assessing the vessel on the client’s behalf before the purchase is completed.

The objective is to identify existing deficiencies, signs of deterioration, outstanding technical matters and potential upcoming maintenance or repair requirements that may influence the purchasing decision or future ownership costs.

Where appropriate, the assessment can be complemented by operational testing, machinery and system checks, sea trials and specialised inspections, allowing the vessel to be evaluated not only visually but also under operating conditions.

Our extensive onboard engineering experience allows us to assess findings from a practical operational perspective — considering not only what is visible during the inspection, but what those findings may mean for the yacht’s future reliability, maintenance and operation.

Findings can be documented in a clear technical report, providing the client with an independent technical perspective before making an important decision.

Underwater & Special Works

Underwater & Special Works

Underwater & Special Works

Some technical requirements cannot wait for the next scheduled dry-docking, while others demand specialist expertise, equipment and carefully coordinated intervention.

TEKTON provides coordination and technical oversight for underwater and specialised works, bringing together the appropriate technical resources according to the requirements of each case.

Services can include underwater inspections, hull and appendage assessments, propeller and rudder inspections, underwater repairs and other specialised interventions where appropriate.

Through our established network, TEKTON can coordinate experienced diving teams, specialist technicians, workshops and technical contractors selected according to the nature and complexity of the work. Where applicable, appropriately certified or approved specialists are engaged according to the requirements of the specific operation.

Our involvement can extend from the initial assessment and definition of the required work to contractor selection, technical coordination, supervision, documentation and verification of completion.

Special works are approached individually. When a conventional solution is impractical or would result in unnecessary downtime, we evaluate the available alternatives from a technical, operational and safety perspective, always within the applicable technical and regulatory requirements.

Owner’s Technical Representation

Owner’s Technical Representation

Owner’s Technical Representation

TEKTON can act as the Owner’s independent technical representative, providing experienced oversight and a single point of technical contact for matters concerning the yacht.

For many Owners, the challenge is not simply resolving individual technical issues. It is the time and attention required to coordinate contractors, review recommendations, compare technical options, follow ongoing works and ultimately verify that agreed actions have been completed correctly.

Our role is to manage that technical complexity on the Owner’s behalf.

We can coordinate with the Captain, Chief Engineer, shipyards, service providers, manufacturers and specialist contractors, following technical matters from initial assessment through execution and completion.

Recommendations and proposed works are reviewed from an independent technical perspective, with attention to necessity, suitability, quality, cost awareness and the yacht’s wider operational requirements.

Rather than requiring the Owner to remain involved in every technical conversation, TEKTON provides structured oversight and clear communication. At strategically agreed intervals — for example through a monthly technical meeting — the Owner can receive a concise overview of completed works, current priorities, upcoming requirements and any decisions requiring attention.

This creates a more efficient relationship between ownership and the yacht’s technical operation: less time spent managing technical matters, while maintaining clear visibility and control.
